traditional moroccan card games, such as ronda, have always been part of my cultural environment and heritage. it is a game that holds significant importance in the collective memory and public sphere in morocco. I have been inspired by the symbolism of the cards and their historical background stemming from colonization. through my art, I reinvent a deck of cards that is imbued with key aspects of moroccan culture while offering a new perspective within a context of modernity. my aim is to give a central place to moroccan women. this omnipresence confronts the reality where women, often forgotten, play a secondary role.
